What I am up to now...
I do love vibrant acrylic paint. For too long I was impatient with the way it dried faster than I wanted and failed to blend in a way I liked. I will shortly be attending a workshop I attended with Hashim Akib at the East Devon Art Academy in Sidmouth. Last year I became inspired by Akib's works of bright abstract landscapes and embraced the materials I previously scorned and found the looser style I have been seeking for some time.
Previously, I have struggled to ditch detail and become more abstract but Akib's style using broad, flat brush and oodles of paint has proven to be the technique I've been looking for...

This month, I am preparing for a major solo exhibition at Walford Mill Craft Centre in Wimborne called On Reflection. The theme for most of the works I am exhibiting is watry reflections. I was inspired by the wetter weather we have experienced in the last year or so. Wimborne is surrounded by rivers and it is quite common for them to burst their banks to fill flood plains and to make large puddles that act like mirrors to the trees and sky once the sun breaks through. Lots of amazing images to capture!
